Word and WordPerfect Shortcuts
by Kendall Callas
Quit mousing around! is what I tell all my clients. The keyboard is faster and less vulnerable to error. A basic set of powerful tools is provided by standard keystrokes available in the Windows versions of both MS Word and WordPerfect. The same keys work identically in both programs.
Ctrl+letter shortcut keys are easy to use, easy to remember. To keep your fingers close to the home row on your keyboard, try these control key alternatives to using the menus:
* Asterisked keystrokes work in all Windows programs.
Basics:
- Ctrl+O - * FileOpen screen
- Ctrl+S - * Save
- Ctrl+P - * Print menu
- Ctrl+Z - * undo last edit (repeatable)
- Ctrl+N - * open a New blank document window
- Ctrl+A - * select All
- Ctrl+F - * Find
- Ctrl+G - Goto menu (move by page, line, column, cell ...)
Cut and paste:
- Ctrl+C - * Copy selected text
- Ctrl+X - * cut (move) selected text
- Ctrl+V - * paste
- Ctrl+Shift+V - paste text only without fonts and attributes (WordPerfect only)

- Ctrl+E - cEnter
- Ctrl+J - full Justify
- Ctrl+L - Left justify
- Ctrl+R - Right justify
