These macros show off the strengths emphasized in all microCounsel macros:

• Ease of use, requiring minimal action by user.
• Clarity of prompts -- no training required.
• Optimized for speed:
  - novice users can point and click,
  - experienced users can blast through via keystrokes.
• Useful defaults (you get something useful even if you close your eyes and press Enter).

Memo produces a memorandum format. It shows off:

• Input "in context": The user types into the document -- the visible cursor makes it instantly clear what to type based on the surrounding text.
• Smart features:
• Automatic date
  (text, not a date code -- so you keep an accurate record of the document sent out).
• Automatic header -- captures the File # entered and adds current date and page #
  (suppressed on page 1).
• Works from a blank screen, or offers choice of wrapping the memo format around existing text.
• A filename code is automatically inserted.
• Minimal keystrokes required:
• Enter key is used to finish each entry.
• User name is the default author (as set in Tools, Settings, Environment)
• Uses a style to hold the format codes and heading, making it easy to add/change features simply by editing the MEMO style -- creates it temporarily if it doesn't exist.
