San Francisco -- WordPerfect Corporation has awarded special status to Kendall Callas, president of the San Francisco PC Users Group. After a 25-hour exam to prove his mastery of WordPerfect software, Mr. Callas earned the distinction of "Certified Instructor". Mr. Callas is president of microCounsel, which offers personal computer support to the legal community.
Mr. Callas, now in his second term as president of the 600-member San Francisco Personal Computer User Group, has been a prominent member of the local computer consulting community for 9 years. He is a frequent author of newspaper and magazine articles on WordPerfect and law office computing.
Founded in 1982, the SF PC Users Group is the oldest and largest support group for users of IBM compatible personal computers in the Bay Area. A non-profit corporation, it provides a forum for education and information sharing within the personal computing community.
The group publishes a monthly magazine, maintains a software library, a telephone hotline, and a dial-up electronic bulletin board, and sponsors monthly classes, presentations, software demos, question and answer sessions, discussion groups, and workshops.
Mr. Callas founded microCounsel in 1983. The firm provides office automation consulting and personal computer training and support to the legal profession.
In addition to WordPerfect training and macro programming, the firm offers telephone support, in-house user groups, and implementation planning.
Mr. Callas is president of microCounsel which offers consulting services to improve office productivity using WordPerfect.
He recently gained distinction by qualifying as a "WordPerfect Certified Instructor".
